The River Fund New York’s
“From Hunger to Hope” Fundraiser 2012
Fighting Hunger with Empowerment
Our year-long Fundraising Campaign started on May 23, and now continues at yet another fun event in Manhattan. Join us at 7:00p.m. on November 8, 2012, where 400 guests will gather for our fall “From Hunger to Hope” event, and celebrate with us 21 YEARS of feeding and empowering those we serve to move beyond the lines of poverty.
MILLESIME, the hip new brasserie in the heart of the Flatiron District is nestled within David Rockwell’s modern architecture of the Carlton Hotel on Madison Avenue, between 28th and 29th Streets. The contrast is inspiring: Though a new addition to Manhattan’s food scene, this spectacular venue features original early 19th century décor—including a giant Tiffany skylight dome, intricate mosaic floors and 100-year old bars.
The award-winning French, classic-fusion cuisine of Owner Chef Laurent Manrique has made Millesime (pronounced mil-e-zim, French for "vintage") into the city's most celebrated seafood restaurant.
Fuelled, as usual, by great music, the event kicks off at 7:00p.m. with FREE hors d’oeuvres and FREE open bar. Featuring a great dance floor that will be open all night, this promises to be a another fun gathering. Our host team expects this to be, once again, the talk of New York's fall charity season. Dinner is not included, but will be available from 8:00p.m. onward for those who wish to sample Chef Manrique’s critically-acclaimed cuisine.
An exclusively volunteer-based community organization, The River Fund New York is one of the most cost-effective in the city at confronting hunger, homelessness and poverty in dozens of NYC communities through initiatives that really do break the tragic cycle of desperation in which so many New Yorkers are trapped.
